Liza Marshall - Music is in her blood.....
She very nearly learnt how to sing before she could talk!
By the time she was 10 years old she was playing the guitar and performing regularly at her local folk club. She quickly realised that being a singer/performer was all she really wanted to be.
At 18 she was on the road gigging professionally and travelled extensively in the UK & abroad; performing in bars, hotels, restaurants in the UK, Europe and the US.
Liza worked as a back up singer for a string of various artists including George Hege Hamilton V. She has also had the privilege of appearing on various recordings including on an album with Luke Guy Reed.
In the late 1990’s she settled back in the UK forming “The Liza Marshall Band”. As a professional 5-piece country rock band, she toured the length and breadth of Britain performing in a multitude of country clubs and festivals both in UK and Europe. During this time Liza become involved with Dean Barnes, the band's lead guitarist and phenomenal talent.
Liza and Dean formed a long and fruitful musical partnership which in recent times expanded with the addition of Hannah Cope on upright bass and Ed Gallagher on dobro.
Dean sadly passed away May 2017 and will be greatly missed by anyone who knew him.
As a tribute to Dean; Liza, Hannah and Ed move forward as “Liza Marshall and The DB Pickers”.
The debut Album featuring much of Dean's music is scheduled for release in Autumn 2017 on Kadaster Records, to be followed by upcoming tour dates so watch this space!
